GEMS(Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards) is a mandatory Energy efficiency certification for electronic and electrical products in the Australian and New Zealand market. It Covers previous major policy tools: mandatory minimum Energy Performance (MEPS), Energy Efficiency Labelling (ERLS), and equipment energy efficiency programs (E3); And expand energy efficiency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency to guide businesses and consumers. MEPS certification is no longer recognized since October 1, 2013, egulated products must have GEMS certification before they can be marketed and sold.

- Washing machine/dryer/dishwasher;

- Electric water heaters/air conditioners and heat pumps/three-phase motors/household refrigeration appliances;

- Refrigeration tower/precision air conditioner/commercial refrigerator/display case/distribution transformer.

GEMS Authentication steps:

The first is to select products for testing based on the same standards as the original MEPS certification;

The second step is to submit the test report and other information for GEMS registration. The GEMS certificate will be obtained after the information is approved,.

New requirements for GEMS Regulation registration:

The applicant cannot select a single state for registration, but to register with Australian Regulator uniformly, and Registration costs range from $440 to $870 depending on the product category and lasts for five years.
