Certification

Introduction

ESMA UAE Standards Agency is the only national standards agency and certification agency in the UAE. In order to effectively implement the UAE national standards, it has released the UAE Conformity Certification Program, namely ECAS, which will be implemented from June 1, 2011. According to the requirements of the ECAS program, all controlled products must obtain a CoC conformity certificate as a pass for customs clearance and sales.

In order to promote the industrial development of the UAE and increase its contribution to GDP, the Office of the Minister of State for Advanced Technologies, the UAE’s Bureau of Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), and the industrial departments of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure have merged into the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technologies in July 2020 (MoIAT), all powers and responsibilities have been transferred to the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT).

Regulated products:

Electrical and electronic equipment with a voltage range between AC 50-1000 V and DC 75-1500 V.
