According to the announcement of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (No. 10 of 2022), electronic industry standard SJ/T 11796-2022 General Specifications for Lithium-ion Battery and Battery Packs of Electronic Cigarettes was approved and released by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It will come into effect on July 1, 2022. The implementation of this standard provides a testing basis for lithium-ion battery and battery packs of e-cigarettes, it represents requirement on China's e-cigarette industry will become more and more standardized.

SJ/T 11796-2022 has a clear definition on the identification, documentation, performance, safety, battery pack and system protection circuit for lithium-ion battery and battery packs of electronic cigarettes. It also illustrates test methods, which provide design and manufacture requirement for electronic cigarette battery manufacturers.
